You do not need to be a software engineer to know if your website is performing properly. Here are 5 quick checks you can do right now from your phone or laptop:

  1. The Google Search Test: Go to Google and search site:yourdomain.com. If Google shows 0 results or only 2 pages, your site is not properly indexed.
  2. The Mobile Phone Click Test: Open your website on your smartphone. Tap your phone number. Does it immediately prompt your dialer, or do you have to copy-paste it?
  3. The SSL Security Padlock: Does your address bar show https:// with a secure padlock? If it says "Not Secure", Google warns visitors to leave immediately.
  4. The PageSpeed Test: Visit pagespeed.web.dev and enter your URL. If your mobile performance score is in the red (below 50), you are suffering a massive ranking penalty.
